Audi Q5 caught fire

Last week, the Audi Q5 I was parked beside caught fire and in about 20 minutes the whole thing was in flames. Apparently, Audi seems interested in treating the issue an insurance claim rather than a potential safety concern that could warrant a recall. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but if this had happened inside a garage next to a house or a park full of people… well, that could have been a whole different story.

Whoa, that must have been a scene. glad no one was hurt. poor owner of that car that aint cheap at all. hope they investigated more to know the actual cause,.

wow... i would have panicked a lot. good thing no one was hurt and thanks for sharing this story. it's quite alarming that they don't see it as a defect? i agree with gladiator here they should have done something more... if the car burned down VERY quickly there must be something wrong that's too much for a 20 minute duration

Oh no! Glad to hear that no one's hurt! You're right, this is not just an insurance claim, it's a potential saftey hazard and this require a full investigation. this is making me shake my head. do let us know how it goes.

absolutely terrifying dude! that hits a bit too close to home,, i mean i got a 2024 sportback myself! i can't imagine seeing everything burning in just 20 minutes!!

yeah, saying to claim insurance is a total cop-out! a car bursting into flames is not a normal insurance thing,, it's more of a "holy crap, is my car next??" geeez. that's it, i gotta chill and grab some

dang. that's scary. i never heard of anything like it before. now i'm worried it's gonna happen to me too.

They’ve since issued a recall but one day too late for me. My wife came home in our 2022 Audi q5 and was unloading the groceries when she smelled smoke. She opened the garage door to find the car on fire and the smoke had already engulfed the entire garage. The fire roared from the garage and through the house. We lost the house and everything in it.
