Cruise control change - adaptive to traditional

I've been getting a little frustrated with the adaptive cruise control in my standard Audi Q5 car. It's great in theory, but sometimes I just want the traditional cruise control without the automatic speed adjustments. I find that it can be a bit too sensitive, slowing down more than I'd like when there's a car ahead.
So, I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the adaptive function and just use regular cruise control?
I'd appreciate any info on how to go about this

Yeah, ACC can be more annoying than helpful, especially in light traffic or when people keep weaving in and out in front of you but anyway people have had luck diving into the MMI settings or using OBDeleven/VCDS coding to disable the adaptive behavior, but that's a rabbit hole and can mess with other features. If you're into DIY coding, there might be a workaround, but Audi didn't exactly make it easy or obvious.

I totally get it! ACC can be a bit hit or miss sometimes, right? I've heard some people are trying to tweak things with OBDeleven, but I warn you, it can get pretty deep.. Are you thinking about diving in and giving it a go?

Absolutely, ACC can be really fantastic when it's functioning well. OBDeleven is a reliable tool for that, but once you start making changes, it can lead you down quite a path! Are you thinking about making some adjustments, or are you just interested in seeing what you can do?

Yeah unfortunately the Audi Q5's adaptive cruise doesnt really have an option to turn off the adaptive part and use regular cruise only. But I know you can usually tweak the following distance or sensitivity in the settings to make it less sensitive. Otherwise, its kinda built into how the system works.

I had a similar issue with my Audi Q5's adaptive cruise control, it felt overly cautious and slowed down too much. What helped me was adjusting the following distance and sensitivity settings in the driver assistance menu. That made it less jumpy without losing the adaptive features. Unfortunately, there's no simple way to switch it off completely for traditional cruise, but tweaking those settings made a big difference
