Fixing a leaky bypass hose on my '16 Q5

I noticed coolant leaking and traced it to the radiator bypass hose on my 2016 Audi Q5, replacing it took some patience, the space was tight space but quite doable with basic tools, has anyone else tackled this repair themselves without dealer help?

you handled it better than I did! Getting to those hoses on an Audi, especially a Q5, can be a real pain in the neck due to the tight space, so frustrating! Sounds like you really know your way around a wrench if you got that done with basic tools.

Yeah, thanks..I found that removing the air intake duct first gave me a bit more room, and also using a small pick tool helped slide the hose clamps off without bending anything. I recommend having some extra hose clamps on hand just in case

Why did you decide to tackle the radiator bypass hose replacement yourself instead of going to the dealer? Did you find any tricky spots during the repair?

Nice work tackling that yourself! I haven't done that one yet, but good tip on the intake duct and pick tool. Did you end up using OEM clamps or aftermarket?

Good job... I had a similar issue with my old Q5, a slow leak from a bypass hose too. No dealer's help yup, but definitely some from my wife. She handed me the tools.
